A latrine may seem like a simple thing. But poorly constructed and ill maintained, it can lead to disease, injury and even death. So, GAD Kenya and Go and Do Likewise have partnered in building strong, easily cleanable concrete slab latrines. Go and Do Likewise is providing the materials. Gad Kenya and the people of Rionchogu Village are providing the manpower and organization for the project which has already begun.
One of the simplest ways to help the people of Rionchogu, Kenya keep from getting Malaria is insecticide embedded bed nets. One net can protect several children, cost only $10 and last for 5 years.
The Cow Project provides milk cows to families helping with nutrition, micro finance and fertilization of the fields.
McCloud presenting the poem, "The Hope That Changed It All". He is one of the children in the Rionchogu village area who attend's Neema Nuru Academy. McCloud is a child at risk. Both of his parents have died (HIV -AIDS) and so he was living with his elderly grandmother who is unable to care for him. A uncle or aunt had refused to care for him and so his grandmother felt she had no choice but to SELL him. When this information came to the GAD Kenya leadership they knew they had to bring Mccloud into the circle of supported children and so told his grandmother that they would provide the necessary support for him to stay with her and remain in school.
